Many local workshops still rely on manual abrasion, which lacks consistency. The introduction of specialized materials like heath ceramics sand has begun to bridge the gap, allowing producers to refine glazed surfaces without risking structural fractures during the final polishing stage.
Despite these advances, there is a critical shortage of standardized wet-processing equipment. The adoption of wet sanding ceramics techniques is growing in Douala and Yaoundé to combat dust-related health hazards and improve the gloss retention of high-end architectural ceramics.
